I've thoroughly analyzed the nine-race Wednesday card at Tampa Bay Downs to present my top five plays. With a keen eye for the track and the horses, I'm confident these selections will bring some excitement and potential rewards.

Uncover the Best Bets at Tampa Bay Downs

Race 1

No. 8 Oops Haha, the morning-line favorite at 3-2, showed promise in her lone dirt start but was well beaten. Trainer Jose D’Angelo and jockey Samuel Marin bring local expertise to her corner. No. 7 Play Maker, at 5-2, is set to cut back in distance and try something new. Her best lifetime figure came from a previous sprint attempt. No. 5 Ladys Chant, at 3-1, has a solid record, hitting the board in seven of her 11 lifetime starts and is a strong contender. In terms of betting with a $100 budget, I'd place $14 on the exacta of 8/7 and $6 on the exacta of 7/8.

Race 3

No. 7 El Galan, the morning-line favorite at 5-2, had a lead slip away at Gulfstream but should benefit from the cutback to 5 1/2 furlongs, alleviating stamina concerns. Samy Camacho, who had a great first week back at the Oldsmar oval, will be in the saddle. No. 2 Wolf Beach, at 9-2, was competitive in two dirt tries at Monmouth over the summer, including a late-closing second-place effort. No. 4 El Muchacho Alegre, at 15-1, hasn't shown much in morning works but has a pedigree suggesting precocity. For this race, I'd bet $20 on the exacta of 7/2.

Race 5

No. 5 Killybegs Kid, at 9-2, hasn't been a late factor in his first three starts but drops in class and showed good early speed in his lone turf try. No. 7 City Time, the morning-line favorite at 7-2, lures Samy Camacho after a strong second-place finish against maiden claimers at the Meadowlands. No. 3 Grand Liam, at 6-1, benefits from the class drop.I'd bet $10 on the exacta box of 5/7 for this race.

Race 8

No. 1 Devra Warrior, the morning-line favorite at 7-2, has won two in a row at this level and has Daniel Centeno in the saddle. No. 9 Murumbi, at 9-2, has hit the exacta in four of his last five starts and will have Samy Camacho aboard. No. 3 Simmering, at 8-1, should make a late move on the turnback from routing to a seven-furlong sprint with Antonio Gallardo in the irons.I'd bet $10 on the exacta of 1/3 and $9 on the exacta of 1/3,9.

Race 9

No. 10 Capture the Time, at 6-1, was second in a tough starter allowance turf sprint at the Meadowlands and should win with a stalking trip in the final race. No. 7 Jetaros, at 5-1, is likely to lead from the front. No. 1 Cotton, the morning-line favorite at 2-1, was a gritty winner against tougher competition at Woodbine last time out but drops in class. The move is a bit suspicious, but he's been offered at a lower price and it could be a case of having to take what's available in the turf races at this time of year.I'd bet $2 on the exacta box of 1/7/10 and $4 on the exacta of 7/1 and 7/10.Robert Criscola is a freelance handicapper based in New York.
