Unveiling the 2025 Men's Tennis Schedule – A Season of Challenges and Triumphs

Opening Road Matches

The Eagles kick off their schedule with two challenging road games. On January 18th, they travel to NC State, where they will face a tough opponent. Just a day later, on January 19th, they take on Duke. These matches will serve as a great test for the team as they look to start the season on a high note. Last year, NCCU also played both these teams, giving them some valuable experience.

Competing on the road requires a different level of focus and determination. The players will need to adapt quickly to the different playing conditions and opponents. It will be an exciting start to the season as they strive to bring home victories.

After these tough road games, the Eagles return home to host UNC Greensboro on February 1st. This will be their first home match of the season, and the fans are sure to be excited to see their team in action.

In-State Matches

In the following weeks, NCCU remains in-state for several matches. On February 2nd, they make the short trip to Chapel Hill to face the University of North Carolina. This will be a great opportunity for the team to showcase their skills against a strong opponent.

Before that, on February 8th, the Eagles travel to Davidson, North Carolina for a doubleheader with Belmont Abbey and Davidson. These matches will be a great test of their team chemistry and ability to perform under pressure.

On February 13th, NCCU welcomes Campbell to their home court. This will be another chance for the team to prove themselves in front of their home fans. After that, they head to UNC Asheville on February 21st, continuing their in-state journey.

Out-of-State Road Trip

The first out-of-state road trip for the Eagles will take them to Virginia. On February 27th, they go to Longwood, where they will face a new set of challenges. This trip marks the beginning of their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, as they face Norfolk State on March 1st.

Traveling out of state requires the team to be well-prepared both on and off the court. They will need to manage their time and energy effectively to perform at their best in these matches.

Spring break will see the Eagles in Orlando, Florida, facing St. Thomas Aquinas on March 10th, Farleigh Dickinson on March 11th, Hampton on March 12th, and Niagara on March 13th at the USTA National Campus. This will be a great opportunity for the team to gain valuable experience and compete against different opponents.

MEAC Round-Up

Next up, the Eagles continue their conference play at the MEAC Round-Up. This year, the matches will be held in Maryland and Washington D.C. Coppin State will compete against NC Central on March 28th, followed by Morgan State on March 29th and Howard on March 30th.

The first and last match of this round-up will be hosted at the WTEF East Capitol Campus in Washington D.C., while Morgan State's match will be played at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland. These venues will provide a unique playing experience for the team.

As they compete in the MEAC Round-Up, the Eagles will be looking to build on their previous performances and secure important wins for their team.

Conference Play and Closure

NCCU wraps up conference play at South Carolina State on April 5th. This will be a crucial match as they look to finish the conference season on a high note.

After that, on April 12th, they head to Greensboro, North Carolina to take on North Carolina A&T State and Guilford College. These matches will be a great way to end the regular season on a high note.

The Eagles cap off the regular season by hosting Shaw on April 18th. This will be their final home match of the season, and the fans will be hoping for a great performance from the team.

MEAC Tennis Championships

The 2025 MEAC Tennis Championships will be hosted by North Carolina Central at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina from April 24th to 26th. This will be a great opportunity for the team to showcase their skills on their home court and compete for the championship.

The players will be working hard to prepare for these championships, knowing that it will be a tough competition. But with the support of their fans and coaches, they are confident that they can perform at their best.
