Andrea Pineda, a junior from London, England, has made an impressive start to her spring season with North Dakota’s women’s tennis team. The Summit League recognized her outstanding performance by awarding her the Women’s Tennis Peak Performer of the Week title. Her exceptional play contributed significantly to the team’s success in their opening matches.

Pineda demonstrated remarkable skill and consistency throughout the weekend. Competing at the No. 1 position in singles, she secured two victories with dominant scores. Her first match against Eastern Illinois ended with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 win, sealing the victory for her team. Following this, she maintained her momentum, defeating Lindenwood with a score of 7-5, 6-0. In doubles, paired at the No. 3 court, Pineda also achieved two resounding wins, both with a score of 6-1, ensuring that North Dakota remained undefeated in doubles play over the weekend.

The Fighting Hawks will take a brief break before returning to action on Friday, January 31st, to face Hawaii Pacific.
