Ohio State's Transfer Portal Hunt for Offensive Talent

Transfer Portal Success Last Season

Ohio State's foray into the transfer portal last year was highly successful. Caleb Downs' All-American recognition showcased their ability to attract top talent. This success has set the stage for the current season, where they are looking to continue their winning streak. The coaching staff's strategic approach in identifying and recruiting transfer players has paid off, and they are determined to build on this foundation.

They previously engaged in talks with star Purdue Boilermakers' safety, Dillon Thieneman, and are now also working on securing an offensive tackle. The Buckeyes' ability to identify and pursue talented players from different conferences has been a key factor in their success.

Josh Simmons, who was snatched from the Mountain West Conference, is now leaving for the NFL Draft and is likely to be a first-round selection. This further emphasizes Ohio State's reputation as a destination for top transfer players.

The Pursuit of Isaiah World

Isaiah World, a 6-foot, 8-inch, 309-pound star at offensive tackle, entered the transfer portal after dominating for the Nevada Wolf Pack. Spending four seasons with Nevada, he has been named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in the past two seasons. Ohio State finds itself in a fierce competition with the likes of the Colorado Buffaloes and the LSU Tigers for his services.

The Nevada Wolf Pack transfer stands at an impressive 6’8 and 310 pounds and started all 13 games at LT this season. His size and skill make him a highly sought-after prospect, and Ohio State is determined to secure his services.

Ohio State has moved into a "good position" to land World, and their efforts to recruit him are ongoing. The Buckeyes' reputation and track record of developing offensive linemen make them an attractive destination for players like World.
