2025-04-11

Washington College's Softball and Baseball teams have made changes to their upcoming weekend game schedules in response to weather forecasts. The baseball team postponed its match against Swarthmore, now set for Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania. Additionally, both the baseball and softball doubleheaders against Muhlenberg, originally planned for Saturday, have been moved to Sunday, April 13th, with slight adjustments to start times.

Due to anticipated unfavorable weather conditions, the Washington College baseball squad has rearranged its fixtures. Their encounter with Swarthmore will now take place on Monday, April 14th, at 3:30 PM in Swarthmore, PA. This decision was made to ensure player safety and optimal playing conditions. Meanwhile, the previously scheduled Saturday home doubleheader versus Muhlenberg is rescheduled to occur on Sunday, April 13th, commencing at noon for the first game and continuing shortly afterward.

In a similar move, the softball team also adjusted their schedule. The home doubleheader against Muhlenberg, initially planned for Saturday, will now happen on Sunday, April 13th. Game times are slightly staggered, beginning at 1 PM followed by the second match shortly after. These strategic changes aim to accommodate both teams' needs while ensuring fair and safe gameplay environments.

These revised plans reflect the college's proactive approach to managing sports events under challenging weather circumstances. By shifting game dates and times, the athletic department aims to uphold competitive standards while safeguarding the well-being of athletes and spectators alike.
