Tennessee's Recent Victories
Tennessee has been on a roll lately. They recently beat Miami 75-62 in New York on Dec. 10 and won 66-64 at Illinois with a Jordan Gainey buzzer-beating layup on Saturday. These victories have further solidified their top-ranked position in the nation for the second straight week. It is a remarkable feat as it is the second time UT has achieved this in program history, both under coach Rick Barnes. Their 10-0 start is also their best since an 11-0 run to open the 1999-2000 season. In fact, the 1922-23 Vols hold the best start in program history, opening the season 14-0 in their 17-game season.Upcoming Games and Schedule
After hosting Western Carolina, Tennessee has an exciting schedule ahead. On Dec. 23, they will face Middle Tennessee State at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network+. Then on Dec. 31, they take on Norfolk State at 3 p.m. ET on the same network. On Jan. 4, they play against Arkansas at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN. And on Jan. 7, they travel to Florida and face them at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2/ESPNU.Injury Updates
Forward J.P. Estrella is out for the season due to surgery on a left foot injury that started in the offseason. This is a significant loss for the team. Guard Cam Carr is also sidelined for four to six weeks with a left thumb injury suffered on Nov. 17 against Austin Peay. The team will have to manage without these key players in the upcoming games.
