Excitement filled the McVean Athletic Center on Sunday as the JCC men’s basketball team faced off against Adirondack. The Cannoneers, buoyed by their narrow 73-71 comeback victory over Hudson Valley Community College the previous day, were eager to continue their winning streak. Despite some impressive plays, including Brian Rivera's three-pointer and Owen Coall's layup, the team found themselves trailing throughout much of the game. Jaydon Koiner made several key drives to the basket, narrowing the gap. However, Adirondack ultimately prevailed with a final score of 76-73. The match showcased the resilience and determination of both teams, highlighting the competitive spirit in local sports.

In an innovative move, the Lion’s Den in Dexter hosted a unique wrestling event on Friday night. This event not only provided fans with dual entertainment but also introduced many to the rapidly growing sport of girls' wrestling. Both coaches expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to showcase their athletes' skills in front of a lively crowd. Scarlett De Witt, coach of the Indian River girls, noted the rapid evolution of women's wrestling and the potential for an official league.
