Opening Weekend: Cross-Country Trip to UC Santa Barbara

The Fighting Camels kick off their season with an exciting cross-country journey to take on UC Santa Barbara in a thrilling three-game series. This is a rematch from last year, where the Camels emerged victorious with a 2-1 record against the Gauchos. It's a great start to the season, setting the tone for what's to come.

Traveling such a long distance of 4,610 miles round trip shows the determination and commitment of the team. It's a challenging start, but one that the Camels are ready to embrace.

The experience of playing on the road against a different opponent will also help the team grow and adapt, preparing them for the tougher battles ahead in the conference season.

Home Opener Against ECU

After the opening weekend, the Camels return home to welcome ECU to Jim Perry Stadium on Feb. 18. This marks the beginning of a nine-game homestand, which is sure to be a memorable time for fans and players alike.

The matchup against the Pirates kicks off a series of important games at home. It's an opportunity for the team to showcase their skills in front of their home crowd and build momentum for the rest of the season.

With the home opener, the energy at Jim Perry Stadium is palpable. The fans are excited to see the Camels in action and support them throughout the season.

Conference Slate and Opponents

The conference slate begins with a visit from UNCW from Mar. 21-23. This is followed by a midweek road trip to Charlotte on Mar. 25 and a weekend series against College of Charleston from Mar. 28-30. Then, it's back to Conway, S.C., to take on Coastal Carolina on Apr. 1.

Facing off against these conference opponents will be a tough test for the Camels. Each game is crucial as they strive to climb the CAA rankings and make a strong showing in the postseason.

The team will also have the opportunity to face off against the top three teams in last year's CAA standings in their first three conference series. This will be a great challenge and a chance for the Camels to prove themselves.

Road Trips and Opponents

The Camels have several road trips throughout the season, including a trip to NC State just 60 miles round trip. They'll also travel to Delaware, New York, South Carolina, and Virginia.

These road trips will expose the team to different playing environments and opponents, helping them develop their skills and adaptability.

Playing against schools from different conferences will also give the Camels a broader perspective and prepare them for future competitions.

Notable Opponents and Statistics

Seven opponents participated in last year's NCAA Tournament, including ECU, NC State, UCSB, and UNC. UNC, NC State, and UConn advanced to the Super Regionals, with the Tar Heels making it to Omaha.

The presence of these strong opponents in the schedule adds to the excitement and competitiveness of the 2025 season.

Campbell will face schools from nine different conferences, including the AAC, ACC, Big East, Big South, Big West, CAA, CUSA, MAAC, and Sun Belt. This diverse schedule will provide a unique challenge for the team.

The average win total for Campbell's opponents last year was 32, with UNC, Charleston, UNCW, Duke, ECU, and UCSB all having 40+ wins. This shows the level of competition the Camels will face and the need for them to be at their best.

Home and Night Games

The Camels play at night at Jim Perry Stadium 12 times for Friday games and midweek matchups. This creates a special atmosphere and allows the fans to enjoy the games under the lights.

The longer stretches of home games and night games add to the excitement and build anticipation for each game.

Playing at night also has its advantages, as it can affect the strategies and performances of both teams. It's a different challenge that the Camels will need to overcome.
