The National Museum of Racing has unveiled the distinguished list of finalists for induction into its prestigious 2025 Hall of Fame. This esteemed group includes eight racehorses, seven trainers, and one jockey, each nominated by a committee dedicated to recognizing excellence in the sport. Among these notable figures are several making their debut on the ballot.

This year's nominees encompass an array of remarkable achievements across various eras of racing. The selected racehorses have demonstrated exceptional skill and endurance throughout their careers. For instance, Blind Luck earned acclaim as the champion three-year-old filly in 2010, while Game On Dude amassed an impressive record of 14 graded stakes victories, including eight at the highest level. Groupie Doll stands out with consecutive Eclipse Awards for female sprinter in 2012 and 2013, alongside Smarty Jones, who captured the hearts of many with his historic Belmont Stakes victory in 2007. Each horse brings unique stories of triumph and resilience to this year's ballot.

The nominated trainers bring decades of experience and success to the table. Christophe Clement has accumulated over 2,500 wins and more than $182 million in purse earnings, showcasing his ability to develop top-tier horses consistently. Doug O'Neill’s accomplishments include two Kentucky Derby wins and five Breeders' Cup victories. Jorge Chavez, the sole jockey nominee, boasts an extraordinary career marked by over 4,500 wins and two Breeders' Cup triumphs. These individuals exemplify the dedication and passion that define the sport of horse racing.

The announcement of the contemporary candidates will be made on April 24, along with selections from the museum's historic review, steeplechase, and pillars of the turf committees. The official induction ceremony is scheduled for August 1 at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, New York. This event celebrates not only the individual achievements but also the collective spirit of perseverance and excellence that thrives within the racing community. It serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of those who have shaped the sport through their unwavering commitment and remarkable contributions.
