Kaufman's baseball career was nothing short of remarkable. As a two-time All-Big Ten selection for the Hoosiers, he showcased exceptional talent. In 1961, he emerged as the conference's second-leading hitter, demonstrating his skill and dedication on the field. His achievements in baseball earned him a place in the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) Hall of Fame.After graduating from the IU School of Business in 1962 with a bachelor's degree and the IU School of Law in 1965 with a juris doctorate, Kaufman continued to make his mark. The construction of a new baseball stadium at Indiana University was greatly enhanced by his major gift. In February 2012, the stadium was named in his honor, and since 2013, the Indiana baseball team has called Bart Kaufman Field home - one of the premier college baseball stadiums in the country.

Philanthropic Endeavors

Kaufman's impact extended far beyond the baseball field. As the longtime chairman and CEO of Kaufman Financial Corporation, he was actively involved in countless philanthropic activities. He raised funds for the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center, the Bess Meshulam Simon Music Library and Recital Center, Simon Hall, and the Bren Simon Cancer Center at Indiana University. His contributions to these institutions have had a lasting impact on the university community.In addition, he was a supporter of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Hospice of the Valley (Phoenix, Ariz.). His generosity and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others will always be remembered.

Family and Legacy

Bart is survived by his wife, Judy, and their four children - Grant, Wendy, Emily, and Hannah. Together, they have 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
