On a crisp Saturday in January 2025, Maple Grove’s Jordan Ode celebrated a significant victory against St. Michael-Albertville High School and her own Maple Grove High School team. This moment marked the culmination of an impressive athletic career for Ode, who has left an indelible mark on her community. Now, as she looks toward the future, Ode envisions a new chapter at Michigan State University in East Lansing. Beyond her playing days, she dreams of transitioning into coaching, a passion that has been evident since her youth. Together with three classmates—triplets Addie, Bella, and Lexi Hanna—Ode founded a basketball training program called Ode Hanna Hoops. Through this initiative, she has nurtured a love for mentoring younger athletes, particularly girls.
Ode’s journey to becoming a mentor began long before her high school triumphs. In her early years, she discovered a profound interest in helping young athletes develop their skills. Alongside her friends, the Hanna triplets, she created a platform where aspiring players could receive guidance and support. This collaborative effort not only enhanced the skills of numerous young girls but also instilled in Ode a deep sense of fulfillment. “There is something incredibly rewarding about crafting plans to improve kids' abilities,” Ode reflected. “I find immense joy in seeing them grow and succeed.”
The foundation laid by Ode through Ode Hanna Hoops has set the stage for her future aspirations. As she prepares to embark on her collegiate journey at Michigan State University, Ode remains committed to her vision of becoming a coach. Her experiences have equipped her with the knowledge and passion necessary to guide the next generation of athletes. The transition from player to coach is not just a career shift; it represents a continuation of her dedication to the sport and the community she loves.
Moving forward, Ode’s legacy will extend far beyond her achievements on the court. Her commitment to nurturing young talent and her unwavering dedication to the sport promise to shape her future endeavors. Whether on the sidelines or in the classroom, Ode’s influence will continue to inspire and empower those around her. As she steps into her new role in East Lansing, the world watches eagerly to see how this remarkable athlete will transform the lives of others through her passion for basketball and mentorship.
