The past two seasons have been a remarkable journey for the Northwestern lacrosse team. With a 2023 NCAA championship and a 2024 NCAA runner-up finish under their belts, the team's success is attributed in large part to the presence of Tufts transfer Molly Laliberty in the cage. Now, coach Kelly Amonte Hiller is looking for another transfer goalie to ignite the team's spirit in 2025.

Delaney Sweitzer Joins the Wildcats

On Monday, former USC and Syracuse goalie Delaney Sweitzer made a significant announcement. She will be playing for the Wildcats this spring. A two-time All-American for Syracuse, Sweitzer had the option to play in Athletes Unlimited over the summer but decided to opt out before the season began. In a press release from Northwestern, she expressed her excitement, stating, "I'm excited to learn from the best of the best and compete with the best every day. I know this place is going to push me to be the best version of myself."Last season as a graduate student, Sweitzer saved 41.8 percent of shots for the Orange. This came after an outstanding first-team All-American season in 2023, where she saved an impressive 50.5 percent of shots. Her journey in Syracuse was a massive success story. In 2022, her first season with the program, she faced some challenges, playing in 13 games and allowing 10.91 goals per game with a save percentage of just 25.8 percent.

To make this happen, White has entered the transfer portal as a 5-5 guard.White was a 1,000-point scorer at Dulaney (Md.) High School. Her transition skills in lacrosse are reminiscent of a basketball player moving up and down the court. Her speed and footwork have served her well during her All-American lacrosse career in Evanston.
