The SIUE women's tennis team has secured the fourth position in the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament, scheduled to commence on Thursday. The tournament will take place at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, where the Cougars, as the defending champions, are set to face off against fifth-seeded Lindenwood. This event features eight teams competing through quarterfinals, semifinals, and a championship match over three days.
This year, the top two seeds were determined by their regular-season performance within the OVC, while the remaining slots were allocated based on ITA rankings. The Cougars aim to defend their title amidst stiff competition from other seeded teams.
In the opening day's lineup, Southeast Missouri, holding the top seed, will encounter Tennessee State. Western Illinois, ranked second, is paired with Southern Indiana, while Bryant faces Eastern Illinois in another quarterfinal contest.
Advancing teams will vie in Friday’s semifinals, leading up to the crowning of this year’s champion on Saturday at noon.
As the matches unfold, the SIUE Cougars hope to leverage their experience and skills to overcome challenges posed by their opponents, aiming to retain their prestigious title in an exciting display of collegiate tennis prowess.
