Local tennis star Brandon Nakashima, currently ranked No. 38 in the world in singles, is set to take center stage at the Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club on Saturday, December 7. This special event is a fundraiser aimed at supporting nationally renowned local tennis coach Tom Svajda, who is courageously battling Stage 4 colon cancer.

In the highly anticipated doubles match, Nakashima will join forces with local resident James Blake, the former No. 4 player in the world. They will face off against the Svajda brothers, Zachary and Trevor. Zachary is a seasoned pro on the tour, while Trevor holds the No. 1 position for the men's tennis team at Southern Methodist University. This matchup promises to be a thrilling display of tennis skills.Tom Svajda has dedicated 30 years as a tennis instructor in San Diego, imparting his knowledge to hundreds of kids, teens, adults, and seniors, primarily at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club. However, since his diagnosis, he has been unable to continue coaching and is now facing significant medical expenses.
