The USTA Florida has officially inaugurated the 2025 Adult League Tennis Sectionals, beginning with the Adult 65 & Over Sectional Championships. This event showcased five competitive divisions and highlighted remarkable achievements from participants across Florida. Notable victories include Collier County's triumph in the Women’s 6.0 division with a flawless record, Duval County securing the Women’s 7.0 title in an all-Duval final, and Collier County prevailing in both the Men’s 7.0 and Men’s 8.0 championships. Additionally, Sarasota County edged out Pinellas County in the Women’s 8.0 category. These results underscore the competitive spirit and skill of senior tennis players in Florida.
In the Women’s 6.0 division, Collier County emerged victorious, maintaining a perfect round-robin record of 3-0. Leon County closely followed with a commendable second-place finish, achieving a 2-1 record. The Women’s 7.0 division saw a thrilling intra-county showdown where Duval County triumphed in an all-Duval final match. In this contest, Baymeadows Tennis Center defeated Charles J. Williams YMCA by winning two out of three doubles matches.
The Men’s 7.0 championship featured another intense competition between Collier and Duval Counties. Both teams ended the round-robin phase with identical records of 2-1, but Collier County claimed victory through a tiebreaker. Meanwhile, the Women’s 8.0 division witnessed a close encounter between Sarasota and Pinellas Counties. Sarasota ultimately secured their win with two decisive doubles victories against Pinellas.
Collier County continued its dominance in the Men’s 8.0 division, defeating Brevard County with a comprehensive 3-0 victory.
