Gracie Ha Crowned WIAC Player of the Year
Gracie Ha, a standout player for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, has been named the 2024 WIAC Women's Tennis Kwik Trip Player of the Year. This prestigious accolade is a testament to Ha's exceptional skills and unwavering dedication to the sport. With her impressive 11-6 singles record and 9-4 doubles mark during the fall season, Ha has solidified her position as one of the conference's elite players.Ha's journey to the top has been marked by a string of impressive achievements. She is the seventh Warhawk to receive the Player of the Year honor, joining an esteemed group of past winners that includes Kalla Schaefer, Sydney Divelbiss, Megan Humphreys, Gabi Kitchell, Autumn Bruno, and Cassie Lee. Weaver's impressive debut season has earned her a place in the program's history, as she becomes the third individual to claim this prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Kasey Schlicht and Autumn Bruno.Weaver's standout performances during the fall season were highlighted by first-place finishes in both the No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles events at the WIAC Championship. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles also had reason to celebrate, as their head coach, Bill Hehli, was named the Kwik Trip Coach of the Year. This recognition marks the sixth time in Hehli's illustrious career that he has received this honor, having previously been awarded the title in 2000, 2005, 2012, 2017, and 2020.Under Hehli's guidance, the Eagles enjoyed a successful fall season, posting a 9-1 dual match record, including a 5-1 mark against conference opponents.
