The harsh winter conditions have forced the postponement of racing events at Penn National for Thursday. The management has announced that the races will resume on Friday with a full 10-race card scheduled to start at 5:45 p.m. EST. According to the latest weather predictions, Friday is expected to bring sunshine during the day and partly cloudy skies at night, with temperatures ranging from a high of 34 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 24.
To accommodate the rescheduling, what was originally planned for Thursday evening's races will now be held in their entirety on Wednesday. Consequently, next week’s racing schedule will run from Wednesday through Friday. This adjustment mirrors similar actions taken by other regional tracks like Charles Town, which also canceled its races earlier this week due to severe winter storms affecting the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
Racing enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting lineup as trainers prepare their horses for the upcoming events. Notably, Brandon Kulp and Angel Rodrigues are leading the competition with impressive records since the start of the 2025 meet on January 1st. Despite the challenges posed by the weather, the spirit of competition remains strong, showcasing the resilience and determination of both trainers and athletes in the face of adversity.
